- We reserve the right to remove accounts if people fail to follow the rules.
- The headadmins always have the right to overrule the rules written below.
- Don't be an ass!
- No bugs are allowed to be abused.
- Any kind of altering the game like hacking or spoofing is not allowed.
- Creepblocking in general is not allowed (e.g. Stonehoof's Fissure).
- You may try to delay your creep waves by blocking them with your hero.
- You are not allowed to force a player to buy items or skill spells.
- English is the preferred language. It is alright to speak another language unless someone complains about it.
- Games should be hosted with Referee spots, they are always allowed. Referees who aren't regular users or trialists are not allowed to observe due to errors caused when uploading a replay.
- Trialists are not allowed to host.
- It's the responsibility of the host to start with the correct playerlist. This includes the refereespots.
- In case two modes end up getting the same amount of votes, it will be cd > cm > sd > ap > ardm > ar.
- Captains always have priority when it comes to picking hero to play.
- When a game is hosted, you have 5 minutes to join it (players AND referees). After that, you've lost your spot and the other players can search for a standin. The first one saying he or she will standin, will get the spot. Not showing up for a game is still an offense for both players AND referees.
- Stacking is only allowed in pairs (you+mate) and done by the following procedure: type !link nickofyourmate (done by you) and !addwith yournick (done by your mate). You will be in topic as <you+mate>.
- Admins can claim an obsspot.
Platforms:
- Currently we play on Garena only. If you play via BattleLAN it is YOUR responsibility. If the host does not accept BattleLAN connections and you cannot find a stand-in, it will count as if you did not show up. Games are played in DotaInvite room.
Disconnections, Leavers and Lag:
- Leaving a game (during countdown) can only be excused for the following reasons:
- a) the host started the game with wrong players or teams not fixed.
- b) the player disced. All other excuses will not be accepted.
- If two or more people from different teams can't play the game due to lag, the game will be rehosted by another host. Lag issues have to be stated before first blood. If there will be a rehost, the game mode is -ap and everyone picks the same heroes except those who randomed in a pick-mode (they -random again).
- If a player disconnects before 10 minutes, the game will be remade with -ap same players with the same heroes, same lanes. If a player disconnects after 10 minutes, the game continues no matter what.
You are allowed to FF if you are in the team of 3 or 4 after 20 minutes. If you are in the team of 5, the usual ff of 30 minutes applies. - If a game turns out to be a 3v5 or a 3v4, it will continue like the rules state. If a team believes it was unfair that the game has been uploaded, an admin can decide to roll it back. A rollback can only be asked for in our #Dotainvite.help channel.
Ladder, Stats:
- You may not try to fake replays or cheat the stats/ladder system in any way. If you think you've found a weakness/bug in the system or have any other comments, make a thread about it.
Saving, Loading and Pausing:
- Saving and loading is not allowed, because the replay can't be uploaded then.
- Pausing during picks is not allowed.
- A pause of some minutes during the game is allowed in case of an emergency (family issues etc) as long as it doesn’t exceed the common sense limit and disturb the game.
- If a player has to go afk for a long time (ex.10 mins, which isn’t advised), he can share his hero to his team.
Creepskipping:
- Backdooring/creepskipping of all sorts is allowed.
Forfeiting:
Forfeiting can be done by following these procedures:
- All players from a team write FF in all-say. (You cant forfeit before minute 30, unless its a 4v5/4v4/3v4/3v5 game, then it's 20 minutes.)
- If only some players type FF (forfeit), the game continues as normal. You are not allowed to bully or threaten a player to forfeit, it is their own free choice, and you must keep playing until all players willingly have forfeited.
- When all players from a team have forfeited they all idle behind the shops, taverns or at the fountain with their heroes on hold-position for the remainder of the game.
- The non-forfeiting team immediately (and we do mean immediately) take the fastest route to the throne/tree and destroy it. Any detours (killing Roshan, farming, etc) is a valid ban reason. Neither team is allowed to interfere with the other teams' heroes.
- Everyone stays in game until the throne has fallen and the scoreboard is shown.
Hero Limitations:
- There are currently no hero limitations.
Item Limitations:
- There are currently no item limitations.
Item Sharing:
- Shared items have to be returned within a reasonable amount of time.
Behaviour:
- Abusive, provoking language and cursing in irc channel, in the lobby or during a game is never allowed.
- Any actions that can ruin the game for your opponents or your teammates are not allowed - examples: itemstealing, killstealing, blocking a teammate, killing a teammate (unless they are about to die anyway), not pushing when the game is won, etc.
- Offensive nicknames are not allowed.
- We do not tolerate racism/nazism of ANY kind.
- We do not set fixed ban durations for a certain violation as opposed to other channels. The decision of a punishment in the form of a ban and the duration is as follows:
- The admin who is handling the case decides at that very moment, possibly in discussion with other admins, whether or not there will be a punishment in the form of a ban.
- The duration will depend on the type of violation and if applied, the combination of several violations at the same time. The act of repeating rule violation has an exponential effect on the ban duration and can in the end result in a removal.
- The above explicitly implies that we do not use nor set fixed ban durations, though when a user is to be banned the punishments will be strict and heavy in order to avoid repeated rule violation in the future.
- If you feel you have been unfairly banned or punished to harshly, you can plead your case in the Ban Complaints Forum.
Forum rules:
- Don't spam threads with useless comments or you'll get yourself a forum ban.
